CHARGERS: LUNA MINI - 52V
Needed backup/replacement parts for.motor, found what I needed at Luna Cycle's online shop. I will never willingly go back to riding a bycicle without an electric motor! Even if I have to do my own electrical work.

Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive eBike KIT
I fitted the Luna motor conversion to my wife's bike. I used the 48 tooth main gear. I programmed the controller to 20amps max and 35kph max speed. I also fitted a gear change sensor to cut the motor when changing gears. Great conversion. Wife now does her commute in 7minutes rather than 12mins with the old Elation motor. I used 12 x 8000mahr hobby king batteries which I maximum charge to 85% because I couldn't get a normal bike battery shipped to where we live.

Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive KIT (HIDDEN/REMOVED)
I found the Bafang kit very well made and easy to install. I only had to machine a small spacer when installing the bottom bracket. Wanting to use my full suspension bike frame, however, created a problem for the battery placement. Mounting the battery on the top frame tubes is not the ideal placement, but does not seem to cause any balance problems.
Also, due to the relatively small movement of the hydraulic brake handles, I needed to fine tune the magnet position for the cutoff switches. I machined small brake handle brackets which hold 5/16" cylindrical magnets, adjustable using set screws, see photos.

48v Panasonic 13.5ah Shark Pack
My dogs and I love to ride in the desert. The dogs like to get out and I love to ride and get the much needed exercise that senior citizens need. I needed to extend my range so I purchased a 48V 13.6 AH Panasonic battery from Luna Cycle. I now have two batteries and have a range of over 40 miles with light pedaling. Whenever I need additional parts I will be returning to Luna Cycle.

BBSHD: CONTROLLER - B
Ordered a "hot" BBSHD controller from Luna which arrived swiftly, the controller works well and installing it was a simple task.
The bike feel "unleashed" now, and much much more agile.

Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive eBike KIT
The bike I chose hasn't been added to the list of complete builds, but decided I could figure it out. Sure enough, after one evening of adjustments and fine tuning, I got it running like a top. There were only two issues (or as I call them "challenges") that I found solutions to easily by doing a quick bit of searching.
The two issues that needed resolving were:
1. The rear derailleur cable runs underneath the bottom bracket via a plastic guide which was bumping into the motor assembly when I pushed it forward. That problem was remedied in about 10 minutes with the help of a dremel and the motor assembly fit in perfectly.
2. The bike's stock bottle cage bosses were installed a bit too low for the battery (shark pack not purchased from Luna) to slide on properly. Luna actually has a video of the solution to this problem online. I did exactly as they recommended and it worked perfectly.
I have had the bike running for less than a month and am completely satisfied with it. I chose the 48t stock chain ring and surprisingly haven't had issues with the chain jumping off or anything else, but I could probably do with a couple less teeth in the hilly area I'm at so a 46t Bling Ring will be my next purchase. All said, I'm really impressed with this little kit and am excited to make it a part of my everyday routine and commute!

Suspension Front Fat Bike Fork (for Sondors and other Fat Ebikes)
Finally I found a fork for the otherwise awesome Sondors Fat tire eBike. The previously available fat forks were either 'crappy' or way spendy. So this is it, if you have a Sondors (or other fat tire bike) and want a great fork at a great price, here it is.

Cyclone Mid Drive 3000 watt Planetary Ebike KIT
The Cyclone worked amazingly with the DHR, and did not require significant modifications. I did have to omit the chain tensioner which was too loose with one number of chain links and much too tight with the other. I have seen no tendency for the chain to come off. Luna's new mount for the motor required a bit of bending to get right, but worked flawlessly in the end. I have had no issues with torque causing the motor to flex, however about a week into the build the bottom bracket nuts had loosened somewhat and required tightening. I would recommend tying the motor to the frame with the included giant zip ties, and putting some rubber friction material between motor and bike (like a section of inner tube), and then spot checking the bottom bracket nuts after awhile.
The motor cover shown here is not recommended if you want more than 2 screws to hold it in place, as the top and the bottom left motor screws are obscured by the chain.
Other details about my build: Using reclaimed 38120 cells from a local recycler, bottom balanced and monitored, but with no bms. Works great. Weak cells have tended to go bad quickly and obviously at high current draws, and good ones have risen to the challenge. Using an old scooter throttle (probably 36 volt?) with an easily accessible push button power switch. To avoid bending your rear derailleur hanger, I would *highly* recommend putting the throttle and shifter in different areas of the handlebar on the same side so you aren't tempted to shift under power. First time out I bent a burly 1/2" solid aluminum derailleur hangar, probably the beefiest ever made. Also, spend some time learning your throttle before you go out for the first time.
The ride is great and smooth with the huge front and rear travel on the DHR - an amazing commuting or off road experience.

Got over 1000 miles on my Lunacycle Ludicrous since August, almost all of them climbs of up to 3000 vertical feet from sea level. It's an awesome bike and a great company to deal with, have converted 3 other bikes with kits from Luna so the whole family can ride!
Keep up the great work and Aloha from Maui!!

52v Panasonic 13.5ah Shark Pack
I converted my beach cruiser to an ebike using the 750w geared hub motor kit along with the 52v Shark Pack. It's been a work in progress but I've enjoyed the project, ordering various things while my front wheel was being laced by the local bike shop (lights, XT-90-S connector, etc). By the time the wheel lacing was done, I had everything ready to go. I didn't have any trouble getting everything plugged in and put together although I learned a lot about wiring by using heat-shrink butt splices to install the XT90-S connectors to the controller and battery. One thing I did was cut apart a yoga mat, zip-tied it to my luggage rack, and then glued another piece on top of the first piece to create a pad for under my battery bad. I also used the foam that the kit was shipped in to cut four blocks, which I Velcro taped to the underside lid of my battery bag. This keeps the battery in place a bit better than with just the interior strap, and also creates a cushion for the batter in case the bike gets knocked over. I'll be adding a front handbrake as soon as it arrives since the bike is heavy and could use more stopping power than the rear coaster brake provides.
I've had to improvise on various things along the way, which has created some challenges but I've enjoyed working through those. Right now, the issues I'm trying to solve are related to the dashboard:
The dashboard only shows speed / mph when holding down the throttle. When pedaling or coasting it shows as 0 mph. Luna has been very responsive when I emailed for advice on this, stating that "The Ebike kit is a geared motor and when you let go the throttle the motor stops inside and since the speed is calculated with the motor RPM the display cannot see the calculate the speed if the motor is not spinning. The only way for this model of geared motor to have a constant speed reading is to have a dedicated speedometer or a phone app that will do that."
I'll figure out a solution for that, but more concerning is that, on my ride home from work last night, the batter voltage indicator went from totally full to totally empty in an instant. I had to walk most of the rest of the way home since I was heading mostly uphill. I had been keeping an eye on it since I was curious how much mileage I was going to be able to get. The battery is in the "break-in phase" and I have the controller set at 80% power right now until I get a few more charges in/battery fully balanced. I'll be using this bike to get to work and need to be able to rely on how much power is left. I guess I can use the odometer to figure out how many miles I'll get but I'd rather have the display be somewhat operational. If anyone has any advice on how to solve this, it would be appreciated. I'll post the issue on electricbike.com later.
All in all, it's been a fun project and I'm looking forward to using the bike for work and fun going forward. Luna seems to be providing top-of-the-line products and I'm glad Luna seems to be doing well.

Great customer service, and the blog was real help also. Motor and battery set up went in as planned, with the help of my friend “ Goef “. Who has done a few instulations already. The only problem so far, is cleaning the bugs off my teeth! Every time I ride, I can’t keep the ebike smile off my face.

purchased HD motor with 52 volt battery combo at lunacycle online for $1,300.00, went to Wal-Mart and got a 29" mountain bike with disc brakes for $200.00, drove by the bike shop and had the BB removed in about 10 minutes. Went home, cut a piece of metal the size of the battery, drilled some holes to fit where the water bottle went and installed with battery connectors. put motor in hole, align and space as needed, thighten nut with luna wrench. 2 hours max! and out the door! Oh how I love my Mean Green Machine...........gregory
