pedals will make you compliant but not very comfortable ,too far back on bike.

the bike is a lot bigger than it looks for you tall people. nice fit and finish, good power and top speed too. i turned seat post around to get good reach to handle bars with out pulling bars to far back. needs different seat hint.

I'm 50, 5'10" 185 and got a medium X2 ludi which I think fits me perfectly with 1 mod described below. I am a moderately aggressive rider. My other bikes are a 20 year old mountain bike front suspension only mtn bike, KTM 450, Sur ron. I had kind of given up mountain biking because the fun to pain curves inverted about 10 years ago.

I have 4 rides on this now and have sold the sur ron. Not because the sur ron was bad - I just didn't have convenient places to ride it. I mention this because the 'fun' bar is set high for me.

First of all, this bike is super comfortable. I couldn't believe it. You dont really feel the suspension working like you do on a moto, it works in such a way that it absorbs the bumps but doesn't feel boaty or bouncy. The riding position is just really dialed in, its hard to explain but I get on my old mountain bike and it almost hurts me just to ride around the street. I think this is because I am getting old but also this bike rides much more upright but also there is something about the geometry that is just awesome.

The one important mod I made (for me) was that I replaced the handlebars with my OEM sur ron handlebars which were shorter but more importantly they have just a bit of a pitch in. The X2 handlebars were too wide and too straight for my taste. It felt off the minute I rode it. Swapping the sur ron handlebars immediately felt great.

I have changed the grips and seat as well to more comfy options.

My slight gripes about it:
1. Limited/no place for water bottle - i'd suggest Luna make a custom water bag perhaps under the top tube to solve this.
2. Limited place for bags for tools/parts/1st aid kit - again, I think Luna would do well making custom bags to solve.
3. It feels like the drivetrain just isn't up to the task. I've spent a lot of time tuning the gears and feel like that will always be true. It kind of feels like it needs less gears and thicker cogset/chain/etc.. I'm probably not describing this elegantly but you get the idea. I wont be surprised if I am buying replacement cogsets, derailleurs and chains and time goes on.
4. I didn't really understand the toolkit I bought that you can order with it, I thought it was a kit you ride with but it is a big box of tools. My bad for not checking, but it would be great if Luna made/sold an under-saddle bag/ w/ a bespoke kit of everything you need for the trail. Otherwise everybody needs to spend an hour or two to assemble their own kit figuring out what is important for the trail etc... No big but would be win win for luna and customers.

I'm getting about 30mi of range mostly in level 1 with occasional level 2 usage for big hills. This corresponds to about 3.5 hrs of riding for me.

Bike has more than enough power. I only use the throttle to start in tricky/uphill situations.

I ride with a trail first aid kit (eg: REI), sam splint, eye bandage, Israeli bandage.

I use Gaia GPS on my phone for nav.

Fantastic bike! It’s the perfect e-bike for someone with limited mechanic skills. Easy to charge, no chain to grease, and gears even I can shift. I love how sleek it is and imagine everyone thinks it’s a regular bike and I’m just super strong.

I had the bike in about 11 days from ordering and could not wait for it to get here. Once it got here I could not stop riding it.

Assembly is easy if you watch some videos about it. I turned up the suspension some because it was too soft. Overall very pleased with the stock power and feel of the bike.

Pros:
Everything but the seat and tires
the new shocks allow for more wheel width it seems

Cons:
The tires are just fine for that first 100miles or straight off-roading. I primarily use mine on the pavement so I went with some Shinko 244 Dual sports 19in rim. This is by far the best upgrade I have done. Makes it feel like a new bike and gives you a lot more confidence going 50 mph down a road.

The seat as everyone knows is terrible so I ordered the float seat from Luna and no more sore butt after riding for an hour. Simple to install for the most part.

The only other con is my bike came missing a throttle screw. Luna support got me the type of bolt needed and that was it!

I think it is worth the money and everyone that's taken it for a ride thinks it is the future. I wish Luna would allow some tuning of the controller but that is a wish. The same would go for a bigger more capable battery 60v or 72v.

I’ve been waiting to write this review to see if the novelty wore off…it hasn’t. I have owned the Sur Ron for nearly a year and this is by far the most fun purchase I have ever made. The access it gives you is incredible. I added a pedal kit as I feel it gives it more of a credible e-bike look. I ride everywhere! Bike trails, bike lanes, sidewalks, street, mountain trails, bike parks, anything is fair game. You will discover a whole new world of things you didn’t know existed. We have a cool pond about a mile from my house that I would have never found without this bike. Ridding on bike trails around town 35-40 miles of range is to be expected. Take it out to the mountains and rip it hard and you’re closer to the 30-35 miles range. Either way, hours of fun. If you’ve made it this far and are reading through the reviews just pull the trigger…it’s a lot of money…I get it…but the endless smiles it will bring to you face over and over again is worth it.

I've been very happy with the performance of the bbshd on my fat tad cxs. The installation was pretty easy though I did have to purchase a few extension cables since it's on a recumbent trike.

Good customer service. Delivery and set up were simple. Added a seat riser, riser bars and 26" front wheel. Easy mods.

I use the 30 tooth mighty mini on a 52v bbshd. Works great. Lots of torque. Climbs the steepest hills with ease. Perfectly machined. Beautiful workmanship. Puts up with offset chain alignment.
