I needed a countertop for my laundry room and I searched for a wood countertop and found Hardwood Lumber Company. I ordered the Character Walnut Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertop. It is beautiful. It's not installed yet, but I'm beyond thrilled with the quality and the cost.

First, you need to know I’m a 50-year-old woman and did the project myself. I hated the stairway and the carpet. I found the perfect fix in your product and love the results!

I really love this cutting board. It looks traditionally elegant and modern at the same time. The quality is superb. It is beautiful and encourages me to use it everday. I cannot seem to wait to cut veggies and fruit on it. Excellent product, highly recommend!

There are no words for how beautiful this block of wood is. I am in love with the beautiful craftsmanship. I have been oiling it and just am so mesmerized by the beauty. It took some time to get it but it was so worth it. I highly recommend using Hardwood Lumber Company.

The wood itself is pretty nice, but that's as far as it goes. I wanted the stain matching service. I sent in a sample of Walnut flooring that exactly duplicated the color the cabinets I was trying to match. Even though I had walnut samples from two different manufacturers I was told they couldn't match the color with walnut. I would have to go with a lighter shade wood. Odd, but OK. After waiting several weeks the bar top arrived. both sides were finished, but inexplicably they had put a sticker on the good side before finishing it, so it had a big unfinished patch right in the middle. The other side had a large black streak. I was told that they put a sticker on the "bad side" before they finish it. Why? Who knows. After over 3 weeks of sending photos and explaining the situation I'm still waiting on a resolution. I even offered to refinish it myself if they just sent me some stain and urathane so I wouldn't be mixing products but I'm still getting the runaround from "Emma". It's been a week since my last email and no reply. Bottom line, decent wood, poor workmanship on the finishing, poor quality control, and even worse customer service.

Pros:
1. Beautiful.
2. Great value.
3. Solid.
4. Level.

Cons:
1. Sanding on surfaces is rough.
2. Rough edges due to poorly aligned router and rough sanding.
3. Have doubts that it was handmade by the Amish considering there are obvious router marks.
4. Needs a few more coats of oil/wax out of the box.

I got the largest non-custom size and it's a pretty good value. I've only had the board for a few weeks so I can't speak to long-term durability. If the manufacturer calibrated their router, did a few more passes of sanding and applied a few more layers of oil/wax would be pretty much perfect. Due to the value, I would absolutely buy again however I strongly suggest fixing the board yourself before usage.

I am a novice woodworker, but the maple edge grain butcher block top I received from Hardwood Lumber Company really made my cabinet look great! Beautiful top!

Select quality red oak, well constructed and matched specifications. Packed well to avoid damage in shipping (very important). I would definitely purchase from Hardwood Lumber Company again.

I recently stumbled across these girls and guys who work at the Hardwood Lumber Company, and they are outstanding! Hands down best product out there for this price.
I had intended for my island to be the center piece(display area) of the kitchen. my island finished out to be 5' x 6' , with a 1' over hang on 2 sides for seating and eating. I chose this piece to be wide plank unfinished. it arrived to my house and i about pooped my pants. it was huge and beautifull. it got it in the front door sideways and very low to the ground, it was an ok manage with 2 medium guys on it. we set it on the island and it was great. I had to cut the sink in, it was tuff! went in no problems, plus no Biscuits!!!!!! perfect circle sink in the island beautiful. i wanted it unfinished to seal it as a cutting block, it looked ok but i wanted more from it.

so after hunting for your typical tops of stone and such. it was cheaper to get another set of tops for the rest of the kitchen counters. so we chose the edge grain for the rest of the tops total L shaped 14' x 26" x 1 1/2" (1/4" round over urethane finish in matte) with a pass thru window and counter
top. i cut the main sink in and just installed the faucet tonight. it too looks amazing I cannot say enough about this company and their materials, they say they use the best materials and they do use the best materials with out a doubt. thank you for being an excellent company and for producing QUALITY PRODUCTS.

As soon as I got these home, I started oiling them, and the wood grain was stunning. By a twist of fate, I ended up going with these over a lesser quality product. While it cost a bit more (but not much) it was SO worth it! The quality is impeccable.

Got these to replace the carpeted steps into a sunken family room. Had to have 2 with returns and two without returns, They stained up beautifully and the fit over the old bases perfectly. In fact I'm going to order more to do another stairway.
