I was originally very enthusiastic about using your product for my staircase project. I am frankly shocked that it cost me $40 for a sample tread that has taken over two weeks to be shipped from your warehouse. If this is how long it takes to ship a sample I can only imagine how long it would take to fulfill an order. Very unimpressed. I also found the customer service agent I spoke to unhelpful and uninformed. I will be looking elsewhere.

I am sorry to hear that you received something different than you expected. After reviewing your order it looks like you ordered 25'' x 12''. All our measurements need to be entered as inches and not feet. I just ordered a sample block of wood. The $10 charge was reasonable, but what was not, was the $16+ of shipping charge. The usps has standard rate boxes that the sample would fit in, at about 50% to 60% the cost.

Engaging with the company was fine and they were responsive to our questions. However we had a delivery window I had confirmed on the phone on Friday for 10am-2pm Monday, and we scheduled our contractor to be on hand to receive the very heavy delivery. Over the weekend we got an email saying things were delayed with no further information, so we were worried it wouldn’t actually come on Monday, but then I was awakened from a deep sleep shortly 8 am on Monday by the delivery guy saying he was in front of my house. I said “you’re not supposed to be here before 10 am” and he said “I know, but they put your shipment in the truck for first delivery.” My husband has a bad back but had to help as the contractor wasn’t due for a couple of hours.

The sapele countertop is beautiful. I was a little stressed with the shipping. The countertop was shipped to my residence and a truck with a liftgate was not specified. I was supposed to unload a 180lb countertop by myself from a 48 foot truck. When the shipping company called me I was informed a liftgate would be an additional $125 dollars to get my top from the back of the truck down 6 feet to the ground. The local trucking company moved the item to a liftgated truck on their own for no additional charge. Hardwood Lumber needed to handle this better.
