Unit assembled easily with the included instructions. Following a temporary set up to make sure all was working as expected, it has been permanently mounted. No operational issues thus far. Working as expected.

Seems pretty informative. Has a good interface

Trifecta

I ordered a 2902D. It arrived within 5 days, with easy to follow instructions. I had mine working in no time - contrary to some experiences others have had, I got mine on my network in seconds and so far the data has been solid. I especially like the Network, so I can compare and contrast my data with other nearby stations )and you don’t even need to win a station to be in the AWN).

I keep mine display on my bedroom night table - it is bright at night, so if light bothers you, it is east to dim or turn off the display.

I actually bought my Ambient as a “protest” against my weather station from another company (hint: Shakespeare wrote a play with the same name) that broke and had to be replaced once a year. I’m glad I bought my Ambient.

I've enjoyed my weather station. It seems to do a great job.

It hasn't alarmed, but I haven't had any leaks yet. I feel covered for the time being!

Excellent product, easy to setup

Connected fine after changing the switches all to low position. Instructions said to leave them how they were set. I was meant to get a 10% discount which it showed at checkout but my invoice showed only a 5% discount given. Contacted Ambient and they said they would reimburse me. So far haven't been reimbursed. Still waiting. Was going to buy through Amazon with next day delivery but went with Ambient because of the 10% discount.

Still havent "planted" it so to speak. I purchased it to monitor some house plants throughout the winter. I followed the calibration procedures with out much headache. Is it necessary? Thats for you to decide, my thought is why buy something if you dont intend to use as it was designed. Very please with the ease of set up and recognition to the net work... just put a battery in and youre off. My plan is to buy more for the yard as time goes on. It would have been nice if Ambient Weather included some vague tables on recommended moisture levels but an internet search was easy enough. I think in general Ambient Weather should do a better job with the chinese to english transcriptions for the instruction manuals, it would go a long way. Overall im happy for what this instrument adds to my station.

Replacement rain gauge fixed the temperature failure on my 18 month old assembly.

Pros:
Easy to put together and get mounted.
Weather station and Display easily established a connection.
Like the rain Event feature. Analogous to a rain gauge.
Like being able to calibrate Wind Speed.
Convenient to be able to view all data fromt the Ambient Weather app.
Cons:
Trying to get the unit connected to the Wi-fi was very frustrating. Need up to date documentation.
The unit powers up in a Wi-Fi broadcast mode that does not seem to work for the Android app.
Pressing the key combo shown in documentations results in the same mode. It was impossible for the Android
app to get a Wi-Fi connection.
Using the key press combo shown in the Android app seemed to place it in a proper Wi-Fi broadcast mode and
everything worked easily for getting a Wi-Fi connection.

So far so good. I bought the WS-5000 weather station during a sale directly from Ambient Weather. I’ve had it installed and operating for a week now.
The installation wasn’t to bad although it took me significantly longer than 30 minutes! However, it is straight forward and I found the enclosed directions to be clear and easy to understand. All the hardware you need is included, except for the batteries of course. (You will need some kind of mast for mounting). Although some reviews stated the console was difficult and cumbersome to setup, I found it very easy as the directions are very clear on this topic as well. All sensors connected on the first attempt, as did the wifi. Not a single glitch. I have the sensor suite mounted about 125’ from the console, which is inside my brick house on the opposite end. My signal is displaying max bars on the wifi and wireless connection. The display is crisp and clear and the colors are vibrant.
So far, I’m very pleased with the weather information the WS-5000 provides and it seems to be accurate. I’ve had a Davis Instruments 6152 Vantage Pro for about 15 years, and at the moment have them operating side by side so I can compare the readings. I’ve always thought, and still do believe that the Davis Instruments are very difficult to beat on accuracy, quality, and durability. So far I’m putting the accuracy and quality “neck and neck”. The durability of course remains to be seen as that’s a test of time.
I’m really enjoying the internet interface and the ability to view my present and past weather data remotely from my phone and/or computer. The data is absolutely astounding. This was the reason I chose the ambient weather station over another Davis Instruments unit, as I needed to know my home weather conditions while remote. Ambient had the solution already built in without having to purchase expensive interfaces.
This unit is definitely not cheap, but for the capabilities I definitely consider it worth the money. So far I’m very pleased with my WS-5000 purchase. If this unit proves to be durable I’ll consider it a home run! As of this writing I have absolutely no regrets on this purchase… I’d do it again!

excellent product, very accurate

Fast delivery of my Ambient Weather camera and accessories.

Great app to check weather.

Just installed it. So far so good.

I was using the 2902 upgrade program. The new model was much, much easier to connect to the network than the devious model. It works very well. I do miss the green windows on the display.

I appreciated the notice of the soon to be obsolete WS-2902 display unit purchased many years ago. The offer of a rebate was so wonderful, so ordered a new 2902D display unit to bring the technology up to date. The unit shipped quickly and arrived very fast. Including the return shipping label for the original unit was also a very positive move. Set up was easy and no problem.

Must have to gage amount rain fall.
