Quick and easy

You sold me two incompatible items - 2902D and WH31E. All I wanted was to see the outdoor temp on the console and these won't do that. And when I inquired about returns, you said $0 refund. Not great customer service!

The fact that Ambient Weather company still answers the phone gives lots of gold stars in my book. Their staff is always so helpful. If I don't understand something they will go over it with me again and answer all my questions thouroughly.

I am happy with what I have purchased. However, I am quite unhappy with the purchasing processing and the product and sensor layout, selection, and product descriptions.

Surprisingly, if a purchaser does not register AND log in to www.AmbientWeather.com before making a purchase, your registered account will NEVER EVER link and display your order number and the products you ordered. After escalating twice, Customer Support says it is impossible because the order was processed with a “guest” account despite the order having captured the associated email address. This is non-sensical that such an association can never be made post-sale. (It is important for proof of purchase, warranty purposes, et al.)

The product ordering webpage (e..g, WX-5000) does not effectively and clearly list what sensors come with the specific weather station, most specifically the thermometer/hydrometer/baro. pressure sensor for outdoor use. There might have been a product substitution (e.g., 31e) but it is unclear. Also, it is unclear that the solar radiation protection (SRS) is required or recommended for outdoor use of a 31e and recommended for the lightning detector sensor. I totally missed the quantity dialog box for the SRS which required me to submit and a follow-up order. Also, the product guides and descriptions are listed vertically in an alphabetical product number order. One must know the product number before browsing the descriptions and guides - a hyperlink to each specific description would be best.

I have great faith in the AW products, but the online order process and the online webpage pages could use a significant refresh and reorganization to simplify the entire customer experience. The IT department needs to invest time and effort to facilitate and improve customer interaction and satisfaction. Not knowing for certain, but it seems that the corporate IT does not what to invest in the residential consumer sector and simply focus on the Ag and Commercial sectors. (IDK.)

My comments are intended to be constructive and helpful for the Ambient Weather brand for improvement purposes.

Otherwise, I look forward to getting the WX-5000 installed.

I like the display very much. Just wish it wasn't made in China.

Making viewing weather simple

I'm very happy with my WS-2000 weather station. It was easy to set up and the quality is excellent. I called customer service and the agent was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Ambient Weather!

Great product. Tech support was patient and helpful when I had difficulty connecting my device to weather station network.

Everything was as advertised and setup, including assembly, went quickly and easily.

Your shipping respone and communication are poor.

Honestly, the installation directions were terrible. The spikes are installed, but I had to improvise because of how poorly they were done.

The purchase was necessitated by a console failure. I am hoping that my $35 credit for returning it you will be forthcoming. The replacement console you sent is working fine

Easy to use

My experience with my purchase went very well. The weather station has its issues. This is the second time the thermohygromer unit has gone bad in 2 years.

I needed a replacement pod for my weather station, and it was a fair price, fair shipping and everything

I am truly happy with ambient weather. I would always get upgrades or new systems when warranted. The biggest issue is the shipping of the system. I had priority from FED EX and it took over a week to get it to me in Victoria BC, Canada. I had to call the shipper 4 times to finally get the right person to track my shipment.

I had to rebuy the bundle and return the original purchase to get the housing for the lightning strike sensor I purchased. it would help if you offered the housing as a stand-alone accessory thus the 4 rating

Overall, I am generally pleased. I have questioned the accuracy of the rain gauge as I still have the old glass style gauge 50' away that measures a little more rain than does the WS-2000. The first rain event there was a half inch discrepancy with a 2' rain. Thinking I may have forgotten to empty the glass gauge previously I decided to wait and see. The past two rain events measured closer with the glass gauge showing slightly more.

The console has great visualization with a well-designed layout. Setup is archaic at best. Since connection is via WIFI, a webpage setup would be much more helpful.

The attraction to the WS2000 is expandability. I have a temperature sensor in my shop close to the house which reads fine even through the metal walls. The well house and the greenhouse are a little further away and I struggled to get that connected. Moving the console closer to that end of the house and they connected. The Lightning Detector works but may be overkill. We will wait and see at that one.

The AWS app on my iPhone is good and I appreciate the fact I can read the weather from it. This and WIFI connectivity were key to my purchase and that is solid. I have a couple of remote properties where it would be nice to be able to monitor primarily wind speed and rainfall.

The WS-5000 might be the solution to the distance limitation connecting to my wellhouse and greenhouse. Moving the WS-2000 to those locations would work fine with connectivity and our investment in additional sensors is protected.
