I’m very happy with my purchase. However, when I buy it on Amazon, delivery is the very next day. Thanks

Looks like a great weather station that I would love to use… However, did not realize it would take the Geek squad to install it. Will have to wait. Is there an installation service available? Mostly a router and wifi issue but is too complicated for me!

My new WS-3000x8 is working very well and was a breeze to set up. To set it up I just put fresh batteries in all 8 sensors and lined them up together about 2 inches apart for about 30 minutes. I left them like this to see how much difference I would find in their readings and to ensure that they would connect with the display which was located about 1 foot from them.
Calibration:
The readings of a couple of the sensors were 1 to 3 degrees off of the average of the other 6 (which were all within less than 1 degree of each other). I then calibrated the 2 sensors that were out of sync with the majority using the display and matched them up within about 0.2 degrees F. of the others. I didn't even use the instructions. I just started experimenting with the display buttons and quickly learned how to navigate the setup screens and options. It was that easy.
Sensor reception:
The ability of the display unit to receive signals from two sensors in my garage is occasionally a little spotty but when one or both do drop out the receiver loses them only briefly before they connect and update again. My garage is detached at the back of my house while the display unit/receiver is at the front of my house. The garage sensor signals have to travel about 100 feet through: garage siding or roofing; my house siding (cement shingles); then through 2 interior walls, so I was happy to get any connectivity at all with the garage sensors.
SENSOR LABELS - Not exactly what I would prefer...
Not all label names make good sense to me and ideally, we end users would be able to write our own label names. Example: "Green room" is an optional label that would have VERY limited application anywhere in the world yet out of the 15 home-related labels "Garage" is not listed at all! I remain baffled by this omission in particular.
A longer list of labels would be welcome if possible. A change to the internal label 'system' that I would prefer would also be that the Refrigerator, Freezer, Bedroom, Garden, Pool, and Spa labels would NOT automatically populate with the channel number at the end of the label. An example of how the current "auto-populate" system is problematic follows.
Example: If one has 2 refrigerators (as I do) in order to get a label that reads "Refrigerator1" I must use the Channel 1 sensor and the display label will be "Refrigerator1." To have the 2nd refrigerator labeled "Refrigerator2" I must use the Channel 2 sensor. Fine. But I have also 3 bedrooms in my home and want to label them "Bedroom1", "Bedroom2", and "Bedroom3." Because the number part of the labels for these two names (Refrigerator and Bedroom) are automatically assigned based upon the Channel used for the sensors the numbers "1" and "2" are already in use by the Refrigerator sensors so I can only name the bedroom sensors "Bedroom3", "Bedroom4", and "Bedroom5" based upon the remaining sensor channels available.
This same issue applies to the other automatically numbered labels (Freezer, Garden, Pool, Spa). Granted, very few homes have more than one garden, pool, or spa but many homes do have more than one refrigerator and certainly more than one bedroom....
SOLUTION..?
Because memory space for labels within the display unit is most likely limited then perhaps the end user could have the option to easily download the firmware and edit the label names to their own particular needs. THEN the user would upload that custom firmware rather than rely on the label list shown on the display? Or, perhaps a means to write ones' own labels using the display itself could be created? Neither of the presumed solutions may be possible depending upon the limitations of the hardware but one of these two options would be VERY welcome for this buyer.
Bottom line:
Overall, I like the system a lot and it works quite well. I look forward to finding out how hot my garage attic is getting the in the summer months (I use the attic for storage) and the ability to monitor rooms to see if heat has been left on in them is VERY convenient indeed. But the most valuable feature to me is the ability to set alarms for the refrigerators. If/when a fridge fails when I'm asleep or away I will now be notified and that will save me a couple of hundred bucks in spoiled food and "unpleasant" clean up.
My overall satisfaction with the system and compliments above notwithstanding, the truth is that if a competing company develops a similar system that provides a means for custom labeling of the sensor channels and at least slightly better signal reception I will buy it and sell this system but for now, this one is GREAT!

Needed an additional temperature/humidity sensor for a greenhouse I just built. It came quickly and synced easily with my WS-2000, which we love.

200.00 console, indoor temperature & humidity doesnt work, trying to find support on the website is a mess, and the links to return the defective unit dont work.
Bought this for my disabled dad to compliment his existing station, bc the screen that came with that one, was the worst screen ever made. overall unhappy with the products- website says "If indoor temp is shown as dashes there is a problem with a sensor inside the console and it needs to be replaced"- this means that nobody actually plugs these in to make sure they work before sending them out. Could be a very cool product but somewhere along the lines decisions were made to sacrifice quality.

Before purchasing I read many reviews to narrow down which company to go with for a weather station. I had used a different brand before and disliked the app, so I paid close attention to what the reviews said about the app for each brand. Ambient Weather had good reviews and I downloaded the Ambient Weather Network app from the Google Play store. This was the only app for Ambient Weather that came up when you do a search in the Google store. The app has decent reviews. I got on the app and explored it and decided it seemed stable enough to give a weather station a try. Picked out this weather station, intending to place sensors outside and in my greenhouse, as well as monitoring indoor temp and humidity. The extra sensors do NOT show on the base station, instead the base station uses wifi to stream the data to the app.
I received the weather station, read the instructions, and proceeded to set it up. In the instructions I saw that the app images shown did not match anything on the app (Ambient Weather Network). I noted a specific website in the instructions and navigated to it on my phone. It is a different app than you can find with just a search on the Google Play store, and it isn’t available for my device, a Samsung Galaxy S22+ running Android 13, because the app is only for older versions of Android! And it has horrible reviews! If I had seen this app before I purchased I would never have bought from Ambient Weather, because the app is horrible and without the app the extra sensors are useless, making the entire weather station useless to anyone wanting to monitor anything other than indoor conditions with the base station. Having an app that isn’t compatible with most people’s Android phones is unforgivable.
Returning the product was simple, though I did have to pay return shipping.

Ordering was simple, shipment was timely. Connecting the product to the internet was painful, multiple attempts, basically trial and error.

The buying process was easy. The instructions that come with the system could be improved. They are a little vague in areas. What they don't tell you is that they don't give you a way to mount the unit. The unit requires a 2 inch post of some kind and they don't provide that and they don't tell you that they don't provide it. so the reality is that you can't install it until you find it. Exactly 2 inch post. They should give you that piece of hardware.
The system seems well engineered but the instructions are a little vague. One thing they don't tell you is that there is an app that you can use to monitor the system over Wi-Fi. Why they don't tell you that is beyond me.
My system had different readings, depending on whether you looked at the outside sensor or the inside display telling you what the outside temp was. I called them and they immediately said they would send a new outside sensor. That sensor was clearly reading incorrectly. It should have worked out of the box, but at least they didn't argue about it and offer to send a new sensor. That is good. We'll see how the quality holds up.

I had to order a replacement plug for my unit. I got the wrong one, and you charged me for the postage to send it back and order the right one. Then I haven’t received my money for the one that was sent back yet!!!!!

The weather station itself works good, BUT it will NOT connect to the internet like it should. It also came with a temp humidity sensor that i put in the garage. It works but doesn't send the readings to the base, what good is it.

First item was not working, after several attempts to get in touch with you, I was finally told I had been sent wrong model and to contact customer service. After several more attempts, I finally got ito customer service who said it was not the wrong part and suggested trying some different things to get it working. Still did not work and after several more days of trying to reach you or get a response from customer service, they finally admitted they had issues with the display not connecting and sent a new one. New one does not connect either and it has been weeks of calling and sending emails and to date I still have not been able to speak with anyone, get a call back, or even a response to email. I die get review surveys though!!! Totally unacceptable customer service and tech support. At this point we are considering filing a complaint to try and recoup the money spent since we cannot get in touch with anyone by phone or email. We have used your products for years and we’re very happy. No longer. (901)497-2527
