So far so good! We've set up the ws-5000 and have been using it for about two weeks now! Ask me 5 years from now for a review. :)

There was a mistake with my order and I was told it was too late to fix it. I selected a weather station (WS-2902C) and several additional sensors (WH31E). The additional sensors were $10 off if you purchased them with the weather station. I selected to pay with pay pal, and during the transition from Ambient to Pay pal all the additional sensors were removed from the order. The next day when I got the email Invoice and noticed the problem I contacted Ambient Weather and I was told nothing could be done since the order was already shipped.

I chose the console that registers 3 individual temperatures. If I had it to do over I would have chosen the one with 8 sensors. I would be able to be more specific with a wider range of data. However, I'm picking up the outside, attic and inside temps now. After installing a whole house fan, now I can compare the three temps and make any adjustments needed. Looks like things are working well.

I bought the collar with pins to put on the rain funnel. Initially, I did not bend the pins. I wanted to know if it was necessary. HA! HA! The twirp is a mockingbird I named MB (original!!). These birds are pretty small, and agile, so MB succeeded in getting around the vertical pins. He left less poop, but he also dropped in a couple of seeds in that were not quite 1/4" diameter! The seeds couldn't get through the hole of the funnel with the poop there, so ... Now, I have bent the pins. I feel more confident that this bending will be more successful. My next option is to add electrical tape around and above most of the collar, similar to what I had successfully used before purchasing & attaching the collar & pins. We'll see! Check back with me in a couple of weeks. I'd shoot MB, but I don't have a gun & I'd be a lousy shot!!

Bought two soil moisture sensors after receiving an email ad. My false assumption was that ambient weather would not send me an ad for add-on devices that were not compatible with the unit I purchase. That was a bad assumption. Put one in the ground and it would not connect, so I researched compatibility and found they will not work with the station I have.

Matt did a great job of helping me with my purchase. I needed to find a way to keep the birds from clogging my rain gauge and he informed me of the cage for my station. His customer service as well as Ambient's customer service is positively excellent. I placed my order on 7/7/22 and received my product on 7/8/22

Tied the station to the Rachio lawn sprinkler controller. Now I can let the two work together for working based on rainfall and wind. Great being able to monitor the weather from phone, desktop or display. Exactly what i was looking for.
