your web site is very hard to understand and use. The pictures of the WS-3000 unit make it look bigger than it is. You list the WS-3000 X3, WS-3000 X5 and WS-3000 X8 in difference places on the web site. It was very hard to figure out which unit configuration was best for you use.

I bought a WS-3000 X3 unit that was advertised as being able to connect to 8 sending units. I can see 5 units reporting. I can not figure out how to scroll through and see the other 3.

I was told that the WS-3000 X8 could not show a graph display. Yet I found a note on your web site saying I could down load a driver that would allow a graph to be shown. very confusing.

I dont understand zones vs sending units in the set up.

I wish the screen was bigger, I wish I could select which temps are graphed. I wish there was a real time data output so I could activiate equipment based on the data.

Assembly and setup was straightforward. I really like the display. As the unit is new, I cannot comment on the rain gauge or long-term durability.

This is the second weather station I have ordered. The first one has work great for 2.5 years. My dad liked it so uch I bought him one. His wind direction sensor didn't work right out of the box. I think we are getting one sent to us as I write this.

I have not taken product out of box. It maybe August before I get to this.

Thought my outdoor sensors were bad. Checked the batteries and were ok. But not as I get new units and put in new batteries and put in old units they are both working. So I haven’t opened the new package and don’t know weather to keep for spare or return ?

The weather station is an upgrade from an older model that stopped recording humidity. After calling and sending e-mail, I went ahead and ordered the new syxtem, which I am satisfied. The folks could improve customer relations a bit. Still having issues getting it to register with the cell phone app.

I have my weather station installed and working perfectly thanks to well written directions. Looking forward to purchasing some accessories now.

--Here are some comments regarding my new WS-5000.

I was impressed with how well packaged the items were and the quality of the instruments. I also really appreciated the user manual rather than some link to an on-line PDF file. The user manual is very descriptive and well laid out. ( Since the unit is registered and on-line, I hope you will notify of product improvements and additions)

It tool several days to adjust temperature and humidity readings to a degree of accuracy. I compared the ambient instruments with three other weather stations. Temps varied as much as 4 degrees and the humidity up to 22%. I made my own psychrometer and purchased an alcohol thermometer to finalize. The rainfall and wind sensor works excellent. I am very impressed with how well the wind sensor records wind gusts and maintains a more steady wind direction.

The lightening detention appears to be working discovering strikes not appearing on national data.

The observations were easy to set up on ambient weather.net and weather underground. com.

I have not yet used the heating element for the wind sensors.

With that said, the WS-5000 fell short in a few areas.
1)The display screen is undersized, especially given the amount of data. I would make the display contents user-
definable and definitely enlarge the screen.
2)The observation frequency, 5 seconds, is too frequent. I would make this 60 seconds or user-definable.
3)i would like the ability to eliminate decimals on temperature and wind speed readings. The numbers are too busy looking.
4) the Solar output and UVI readings are useful but even better would be a formula to convert to "percent possible sunshine". This is possible to do knowing the date and latitude.
5) The rainfall data disappears off the main screen and is replaced with a forecast symbol after a period of dry weather. I would prefer to keep the rainfall data posted instead.
6) In the archive memory mode, I would like the ability to rearrange the columns of text data.

7) The "feels like" temperature is NOT accurate and a disappointment. I called technical support regarding the temp and feels like temp being the same. Mathew gave several instructions on how to reset but this did not work. Apparently, after rereading the user manual, the feels like temp is not calculated between 40 and 80 degs (page 55). Tech support was not aware of this? I do note that the online ambientweather.net does calculate the feels like temp between 50 and 70 degs but not at other ranges. Why the disparity?
I suspect the feels like temp is nothing more than the wind chill below 40 degs and heat index above 80 degs. This is disappointing as the WS-5000 has the potential to give the "effective temperature" . You could calculate this feature as the actual formula is based on temp, humidity, wind speed and solar output all of which are readily observed.

Overall, I am pleased with the WS-5000 and have given the unit 4 stars. I hope you take my suggestions to heart and make some future enhancements to improved this product.

Awesome device. I updated from an older model and glad I did. Setup was easy and everything connected to display right away. App works great and so much data. Don't think about it, just get one.

Found an updated version of my fading display console. Was delivered very quickly with clear tracking updates. Linked with my existing weather equipment with no effort. Extremely pleased.
