The WS-3000-X8 works well as a stand alone unit. Unfortunately the Wireless ethernet IP Module that was sold with it DOES NOT WORK WITH THE WS-3000. It would be nice if the website said that, and they didn't sell them together on the website.

Unable to get unit to report to the Ambient Weather network. Entered MAC address but still reporting no data. Reset unit, and I am wait for it to work before mounting it outside. Registered via both the App and Web. Web did not ask for the MAC address. Not sure which API key to use the WUnderground since they also generate a key. Their key does seem to report data but probably based upon my location. Putting it together was easy except attaching the wind vanes since no tool was included unlike the useless wrench. Only one additional thermometer / hygrometer add, for now. Probably mounting only 6 feet high once it starts reporting.

Very pleased with my purchase works great. This unit replaced a five year old WS-2902 unit that was really showing its age from the middle Tennessee area. Took me less than 15 minutes to change out the station and have it linked online. The new AWNET configuration app is heads and shoulders above the previous AmbientTool app and made it a snap to get connected to my Wi-Fi. Also had a pleasant surprise when I powered down the old unit, the old unit transceiver began displaying data from the new unit so now I have two!
