The process went much smoother than expected!

The application process was straightforward, and they were responsive to questions via phone and email. They also offered better rates than other commercial and government lenders. One thing that was a little confusing when I was searching for a nonprofit lender: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A RESIDENT OF NH OR ATTEND COLLEGE IN NH TO USE THIS PROGRAM.

super clunky interface and unclear directions. very good rates, and EXCELLENT phone customer service (every rep I talked to was awesome, kind, and helpful). but the technology and trying to figure out what to do and how to do it was horrible. no electronic signing is crazy, too.

Overall, I found the process to be pretty good. I did have a little trouble understanding some of the emails. We would be asked submit or fill out a document, but when we logged in, the document wasn't easily identified. I would use your company again. I would just recommend improving communication to those who are first time users.

I am so grateful for my new private student loan refinance with EDvestinU. I have a little over 80k of private student loan debt from art school and want to go back to school to go into the healthcare field.

As I began that journey I knew that going back to school would not be feasible unless I found a new lender who would refinance my loan and offer some form of in school forbearance / deferment.

Feeling determined to make a positive change in my life through going back to school, I scoured the internet and found a total of thirteen lenders who refinance private student loans. I noticed EDvestinU right away. The company values and ethos as well as the unusual fact that EDvestinU is a nonprofit company was truly inspiring.

After looking into all thirteen companies, only two lenders of private student loans offer an in school deferment / forbearance. Citizen’s One and EDvestinU. After getting approved for both lenders, EDvestinU stood out as offering a fair loan agreement that seemed feasible for the life of the loan (i.e. discretionary deferment, hardship deferment, in school deferments, etc…)

Each representative I talked to was kind, down to earth and helpful. I could tell that I wasn’t talking with a mega financial conglomerate like Citizen’s One and that was meaningful to me. At the end of the day, I am a human, not a number, and I always felt like a human when speaking with EDvestinU.
