I have had this bike since it was new . I have wanted to build this for a long time and am so glad I went with Luna cycle for my mid drive kit . Packaging was great . Install really is super simple when you have all videos you guys host .Couple more tweaks and she will be 100%! Great job all!

I bought my BBSHD kit from Luna in August of 2016, since then I have stacked over 20,000 miles on the unit riding every day hauling hundreds of pounds of tools and equipment. I own and operate a bicycle based carpentry business. Luna sold me a solid ebike kit that has needed little maintenance or repair and when it does have a stroke Luna has the parts in stock to repair easily. My lastest purchase was all of the internal gearing, I purchased as insurance, my unit has not stopped working yet I just feel like it’s now a high miler and soon will need gears replaced.

Great value when compared to purpose build e-bikes. Upgraded a 22-year-old GaryFisher and LiteSpeed. Now, this 70-year-old can climb mountains and haul the dog as years gone by.

After a few years of use, my nylon reduction gear peanut-buttered. This replacement gear was easy to swap out, with helpful instructions from Luna Cycle. Bike was up and running again within the hour!

Stabilized bar was useful but I always notice a crackle during pedaling. I have very tightnening and put two lock ring but perhaps a special ring is needed between bicycle frame and stabilized bar. Chainring wasn’t useful because not aligned well with rear gears, so I have to replace it. I am in Italy and so i payed 30% more customs, and so many times is for me more affordable to buy from other sellers not located in the USA. I also bought hand throttle that’s great but have some issue with the cable that interfere with derailleur controls. Service is good, fast shipping. I also bought BBSHD last year that’s great, only has crackle issue. I also bought a color horizontal display and I like it.

This is my third build. I have a fourth build I will be finished with in a couple weeks.

Older Electra Townie. 1200 watt rearhub motor powered by a 48v 24 wh battery. I use it to communicate to work and leave my gas guzzler at home. Luna is easy to do business with. Good experience.

Great robust product, almost a year and still going strong! Wonderful health investment, gets me to ride despite my bad knees.

Picked up the bike in late June from Luna headquarters. Kyle was gracious enough to answer all my questions and show me around the shop. The bike rocks, I’ve got the super Moto wheels and 60t sprocket. Can’t wait for the sine wave controller to boost the power. This bike can be modded to be legal under CA moped laws and driven without registration. Oh, i took the bike back from my daughter and went out in the desert. Bike handles awesome and it’s suoer easy to ride. Can’t go wrong with this one or the price! Thanks Kyle and Luna!

I bought the Luna wrench to make my e-bike build go as smooth as silk. It's in the details to get your bike right the first time. The luna wrench was part of my planning for a smooth build out the gate. I have had 1,000 miles in commuting and recreational riding with zero build issues. Luna cycles has all the good stuff when you need it.

Bafang drive arrived quickly and was easy to install on bike. Only complaint is that the chain line is not close enough to frame/bottom bracket. Restricts 10 speed bike to 7 speed.

Bbshd, new Luna Wolf pack, Luna offroad programming, Dpc-18 display, e brake sensors, luna one 36 tooth sprocket, aluminum chainring adapter w 42 tooth sprocket. First e bike ever. Had the install complete in 4hrs. Went through proper 1st battery charge/balence routine. Ihave now tried out all three front chainrings. With the stock Bafang 46 tooth, I pedal along comfortably at 31 to34 mph on road max speed about 45mph. This is with swable big apple rear tire which is around 30" tall. The 36 tooth Luna on same setup is much quicker, can only pedal up to 20mph, top road speed very slight downgrade 39mph. Definatly best for offroad. The Dpc-18 display is super accurate, I set rear tire size to 30" and it is right on the money trip meter and mph. I have checked it on radar gps and clocked by my 2017 Chevy truck. I have full use of all 9spds with all three chainrings. My setup is a 2017 Trek Marlin 7 29er, hydraulic disc brakes, 17.5" frame size. Mine is setup a a comfort commuter. Bar ends, dual ftont headlights, rear light, mirror, rear rack and bag w panniers, rear mount sidestand, comfy gel seat, running tubes with continental criuse contact front schwable big apple rear, carry tire tools one tube pump and basic bike tool kit. Even with all that my bike is only 65lbs readu to travel. I run it hard in pedal assist 9. Usually start at 80% battery and get around 24miles out of it. I live on the rocky coast of Maine, very hilly up down up down. I did 1 long distance test, started at 100% battery, used pas 5 and worked on the hills, got 42 miles bfore getting down to 20% battery. I had never ridden any e bike before i built this. I could not be happier. Most of where I go is within 20 mile round trip have no worries on making it home. Even starting at 80% charge amd running 9 pas I am going through my daily routine with no worries about battery life. Luna cucle was incredibly great to work with, i had mistakenly ordered the wrong motor size, Trek Marlin is standard 73mm, I originally ordered the 100mm one quick e-mail to Luna before it was shipped and all was well. I received everything to do the complete install in one afternoon. I did have my lbs remove the bottom bracket. I have since bought my own crank puller, so i can change chainrings in about 5mins. Also bought a rear cassette romoval tool. I am going to try and biuld my own rear cassette using a 7spd and rearranging the gears. I find with 1500watts 9 gears are a pain, too much shifting. I really only use 4, lowest, highest , and acouple in the middle on rare occasion. As a summer commuter i am extremely happy with my current setup. As fall arrives though I will put my knobbies back on. For winter? Definatly studded knobbies for lake and snowmobile trails with the 36 tooth chainring. My only wish? As all of us whom are using the bbshd have realized, there is no such thing as TOO much power! So my wish? Luna to offer the ludacris controller to us regular folks. Yaa baby 2500w I could deal with that. Please please Eric?
So now ive got my eye on a fatbike at my lbs. This is addicting, do be cautious, if you are married.

I love the products that I'm getting from Luna, they are perfect for the custom chopper trikes I'm building. So easy to set-up and use, with plenty of power. I have a BBSHD on this trike that I built for my wife. Next I will finish my trike and equip it with the hotrod programmed BBSHD and Luna Wolf Pack that I purchased (after all, my trike should go faster than hers). Everything bolts up easily and the video tutorials walk you through step-by-step. Mine are obviously a little different because I'm building them from scratch rather than just changing over a bike. I've taken extra steps to hide the wires inside the frame as much as possible. The red anodized Luna chainring really adds a finishing touch. I still need a little more practice with painting but overall I'm very happy with how this one came out.

Second year on my Luna Giant Roam 2. Received it last year (July 2017) and put about 90 miles on it. Loved it but not enough miles to comment yet. Now 1 year later and I have more than double the miles on this bike! This bike has been flawless! Love riding and use it primarily to commute to and from work. I typically ride in the first assist and it has plenty of power. I have used it in the third assist to climb small hilly trails and it tackles it perfectly. I feel comfortable with the bike now that I will try more aggressive off-road riding in the near future.
