I became concerned about living alone without an alert system and joined Medical Care Alert after investigating such services on Angie's List. I have been very pleased with them ever since.
I spoke with their representative on the telephone, agreed to one of their plans, and subscribed to the service. My equipment arrived quickly and I was able to set up the service easily by following the instructions included. I have tested every week since then and had a successful test. I had two "false alarms" and was helped by a customer service representative to avoid them by not wearing the alarm button on the same wrist as my wrist watch and by not wearing it while sleeping...so at night I'm attaching it to my CPAP machine instead.

It arrived on the appointed day and my neighbor came over to set it up. Set up was difficult because the only phone connection was behind a very large piece of furniture.

very prompt response to a systems check, also request for extra battery I suggest you warn customers that the cap on the battery may be loose the unit arrives and the battery falls out. I discovered this when I found a strange piece of plastic on my carpet which turned out to be the cap. I never did find the battery which had fallen out sometime during the day. I also suggest you offer a chain for around the neck instead of the ribbon if the customer wishes.

I chose this product above the others that I checked out because it fit my life the best. I liked the fact that I could talk into the pendant and didn't have to be near the base so that I could use it outside. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to be able to come up with names of people to have you contact who I could give keys to my house since everyone who lives around me either works or is retired, like me, and not home much, and my kids are scattered over 4 different states. This offers a lot more flexibility as far as usage and if it weren't that I have a cell phone for when I'm out of range I would have gone with the mobile unit, but this has a far enough range that I can visit my 98 year old neighbor across the street to check on her and still be OK.

Love having this as I would have no one that I could give a key to and this eliminates that necessity. This was another one of the features that was a plus in my choosing this system over the others that I checked out.
An added plus to a lock box is that if for some reason we should lose the key or our key should break in the lock, we can always get the key out of the lock box and go to the other door and get into the house--something I never thought of until we put the lock box on.
