We love this product!!!

Much better quality than expected. I figured it would be two pieces just glued together. It’s not.

I purchased this for a 2021 Tacoma Double Cab (doors and rear wall). I was a bit nervous to install since it would require some cutting and modifying to fit on the doors and rear wall. There are horizontal brackets running alongside the door which split it into 3 sections. I reached out to Second Skin and they gave me some good tips for installation. From reading another forum, I decided I would use cardboard to make a template for the 3 sections I needed to install in the doors. Once I had my templates ready, I used them to trace along the MLV foam and cut it to shape. I stuck one side of the double-sided tape (sold by Second Skin) on the MLV Foam and mounted it on the door. Once it was in place, I removed the other side of the tape and pushed down firmly until it was secured. I rolled the window up on down to make sure I had clearance before mounting the door panel back on. Some tips I would have for installing are to:

1.) TAKE YOUR TIME. It took me 1 whole day (8 hours) day to do the first door (taking the door apart, making the cardboard template, cutting the MLV Foam to shape, testing it, taping it, mounting it). Once you have a template for the door (e.g. front driver door), you can flip it over (mirror it) and use it for the other side (e.g. front passenger door). Just make sure that the cardboard fits inside the door before you cut the MLV Foam.
2.) Make sure that the weather is good if you are working on this outdoors and don't have shade. There's nothing worse than having to rush putting your door panels on in order to close your door because of a rain shower.
3.) If you are using double-sided tape, don't remove both sides before you mount. You want to stick one side of the tape onto the MLV Foam and then put the MLV Foam in place; then you can pull it towards you slightly off the surface and remove the tape while pressing down. Make sure you wipe down the mounting surface with denatured alcohol to prevent the tape from getting unstuck!
4.) Use a sharp box cutter to cut the foam into shape.
5.) It doesn't hurt to have a friend help you out who has some patience as well.

Overall, This is an extremely solid U.S. product, and I would recommend to anyone looking to block outside sound.

I purchased this to sound deaden a 2021 Tacoma Double Cab (doors and rear wall). When I spoke to Second Skin customer service, they informed me that 60% coverage gives you 95% effectiveness. I tried to spread it out in a checkerboard pattern throughout the entire door and rear wall, and it made a significant difference with vibration. Some tips I would have are to make sure that the door is wiped down with denatured alcohol extremely well as stated in the instructions to provide maximum adhesion. I would also recommend purchasing a roller in order to press it down firmly. A box cutter or sharp knife comes also in handy. I'm happy to support an American company with good quality, solid products made in the US. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to add sound deadening to their vehicle.

I was blown away by the sound difference even after just placing half of the sheets of down. Amazing stuff, would definitely recommend to anyone doing a roof project. I also got the megazorb and am about half way through that, can't wait for the full job to be done, it will be so great!

Hands down the best sound dampening product I’ve ever used! I applied two layers to the floor board of my truck and it made an immediate difference in road noise. Not to mention the incredible SPL response increase as well.

Works as intended. I was also able to use it to spray bed liner. It has a different bottle thread than the upol undercoat gun and the two are not interchangable.

I am over the moon with the difference spectrum made. I bought it specifically to spray in the wheel wells to try and kill The noise my uhp summer tires make and it's incredible what a difference there is.

I ended up applying two and a half gallons in three coats to the four wheel wells. Now the only noise I get while driving is from the suspension or really rough sections of asphalt. All the normal tire noise that I had to live with is eliminated.

If there is a downside, it's that the car was unusable for about 2 weeks while the spectrum cured and I could top code it with bed liner. I was perhaps being over cautious but I didn't want to risk ruining the results by being impatient.

good product

It worked for my application, as a damper for my turntable platter. It really maximize the potential of my phono cartridge. Vocals sounded lifelike, extended frequency response too.

Bottle is kinda junk, kept collapsing from the pressure as spectrum was sprayed. The wire tape was kinda difficult too because it almost wanted to lift the spectrum with it while cutting through it. Plastic wrap is kinda a pain too because it’s hard to cut through the multiple layers of plastic before it’s unfurled

Works pretty well. Using the glue was pretty messing and I didn’t let it offgas long enough before placing down (left a weird glue smell for awhile)

Sound deadener worked great, brought the noise level down to a comfortable rate (not a Lexus but definitely not an open top jeep with a top on feel ). Definitely need to use more spectrum in the target areas (u set fenders and undercarriage)

I’ve installed the Damplifier Pro and MegaSorbe in the 4-doors of my 2015 Tacoma. The results this far is quite impressive! I have the material to do the floor for a wall rear wall that I will get to in short order.
I had several questions along the way and Eric and customer service was extremely helpful. I’m a big fan of good old fashion customer service, as I have one chance to get this right.

Adhesion could be stronger. Looks are nice . I received your email and I am installing it over Lizard skin noise /heat that was sprayed with DP-40 primer/sealer. I had to spray 3M 90 for excellent adhesion . This car was completed 13 year ago . I clean the area with PPG 440

Love the product. Easy to use and straightforward. I have done just the doors so far but already see a 5+ decibel difference. The product arrived quick and we followed the 4 step process flawlessly

This roller helped big time when applying second skin to my trunk and license plate. I wouldn’t have been able to smooth it all out had it not been for this product. Highly recommend it!
