For the price I wasn’t expecting cracks in the wood, but it has cracks on both sides. I was able to sand the scuff marks off. All sides are flat and even as I desired. However, the pieces of wood that make up the entire piece clearly are pieces that have different widths/depths. It appears that no attempts were made to strategically place the wood so that the knots would give an appearance/pattern of flowing from one piece to the other.

I was really pleased with my purchase. Item arrived in perfect shape and was carefully packaged. The overall experience was exceptional. The one thing I would mention is when receiving email updates on my order, I would click on the link to go to my account, only to see it say I did not have any orders placed! I was relieved when the product finally arrived at my doorstep! Other than that, I have zero complaints and would definitely recommend this company.
