Ordered oak stair treads and risers. Everything arrived on time and in pretty good shape. Price was very competitive but after adding shipping - not so competitive any more. treads and risers were made with glued 1x3's and wider. Could have done a better job matching grain. The grain difference will be less drastic after staining but it will still not look as good as it should. One tread showed a few inches of snipe at the end. I will need to fix that. Overall OK experience. 3 stars because of issues noted above.

Thanks for getting back to me. You had requested pictures, but I have already installed the stairs. I had ordered treads about 4 inches wider than I needed and I was able to cut off the snipe on the one tread that had the problem. After staining, stairs look very nice and mis-matched grain is not an issue with the homeowner. All-in-all looks very good and am bumping to 4 stars.

I purchased a primed white 71.875” x 5” x 1.5” floating shelf made of cherry. The cost was $236.62, including insurance. The shelf arrived with a significant bow. When I reached out to customer service I was told "Were you not planning on screwing this down to the mantle? This would get rid of the warping. Flipping the shelf and adding some weight will also pull it flat.” A floating shelf should be flat! What’s the purpose of the insurance?? I will not purchase from Hardwood Lumber Company again and would most certainly not recommend them!

I had a pleasant experience with the ordering and communication of my hickory counter top for an island I had recently purchased. I ordered it unfinished then I sanded the edges and sealed with teak oil. Turned out great!
