I wish I could say it was a perfect experience, but sorry, it was not. I placed my order and had no idea when it was coming. I had to reach out and request status. The online website is super hard to find status and the emails that are sent are so horribly formatted they are unreadable. I ordered 5 cherry retrofit stair treads. 1 of the 5 has a huge crack across the bullnose. I'm working to 'hide' it, but thank goodness these are steps going into our lower room and not our main stairs. Net: Great price, difficult to use website, impossible to decipher emails from the company on status.

Working with Hardwood Lumber was great. They reached out without prompting to make sure they understood my needs. They also adjusted things that were my mistake and adapted the shipping without incurring more cost or delay.

Finally, their product is amazing. It was even better than we expected and was delivered in perfect condition. Now I just have to not mess up the installation.

Just what I ordered and delivered in a timely manner.

The ordering process was ok, it was nice to see all the options and what they meant, however the trouble began when ordering a custom cut.
I sent cad drawings of the custom cut over, but apparently the translation of the cut wasn't done properly. There needs to be at least a stage where a full CAD drawing is sent back to the customer from whatever software is being used to direct the cut (and in multiple views). This was done in one view for me, however it apparently was not referred to when the actual cut was made.
The customer service was variable. The translation of the need completely failed, the updates on shipping and lead-time were sporadic, but the attempt to refund money due to a completely failed piece cut was fantastic.
Emails were responded to promptly and professionally, I wish that had translated into the manufacturing.
In the future, having a sign off on the complete design would be great, however even in my case it didn't mean that is what was going to be constructed. I have a hard time understanding what happened, since the rest of the work is obviously very professionally done and beautiful.

Item not as pictured. Disappointed, at this price point I should not be surprised and disappointed with what I receive.

Excellent product with exact specifications, would recommend HLC to anyone looking for great quality at reasonable prices!
