Great communication with my order!

Very nice piece of wood… we’re slightly disappointed that the walnut is not darker (richer) like the photo in the description. I’m sure it will darken after a coat of poly.

Exactly what I was looking for. The countertop is beautiful and is made in the USA! Can’t get better than that.

For CNC work, this is the best company out there. I work in a Military unit and am in charge of making awards/retirement plaques/everything, and I use this company as our number one wood supplier. Slabs arrive in perfect condition without warping or defects EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can make large projects out of exotic wood without issue. Absolutely love this company.

I ordered some custom pieces to build a custom audio visual entertainment stand. It was very easy to make an order on line. Pricing all up front. When I did have a discussion with customer service they were very knowledgeable and every question was answered immediately. I know for a fact that if I ever need any custom wood work done I will not hesitate to call Hardwood Lumber Co.again!!

Great products, great service

I've been buying products from Hardwood Lumber Company for many years now. Their products are exceptionally well made, and I've always been satisfied with the ordering and delivery process. Occasionally, there may be difficulties regarding an order, but the staff has always been more than fair in resolving questions and issues. I wish every company was so easy to work with.

My countertop and floating shelves arrived on time and looked stunning. I would totally order from this company again. Their prices are amazing and the quality of their products are exceptional.

Waste of time. The delivery is supposed to be 2-3 weeks. I called them at 3 weeks and had not idea. Promised the next week. Called back, still no idea, promised the following week. Complete waste of time

Review of Sales/Ordering Experience with Hardwood-Lumber Company

Unfortunately, my experience was not good, pretty frustrating at times. And before I continue, please know that I fully understand that my order has design complexities which require special attention during fabrication.

Initially, I worked with the sales person fairly well to understand how best to spec the products I wanted, including a beveled edge detail. She indicated that the bevel angle could be whatever I specified, so I provided that information. When I asked her about rounding over the sharp edge created by the bevel, she responded “We’ll see what we can do…” or words to that effect. I told her that was not particularly reassuring, especially coming from the representative of a company claiming to be experts in would and fine furniture fabrication.

While I had initially planned to assemble the wood countertop elements myself, I thought it would be helpful to know the cost difference in having HLCo’s furniture division provide a quote for integrating steel legs with the table top and shelf units. About a week later and only after asking a second time for the quote, did I receive a one liner (with no details) from the sales person listing the cost of the assembled table and shipping. Adding the legs nearly tripled the cost of the original wood only order. I got the message loud and clear and apologized for wasting the furniture department’s time.

Once the final wood unit dimensions were confirmed, I was connected with the person responsible for handling CAD and drawing interface with the CNC fabrication machine. I would describe this experience and the individual I was working with as very professional. He showed a genuine interest in the work and getting things right.

Once the order was placed (after my approval of the fabrication drawing and beveled edge detail), I waited two weeks before calling to check on status of the order. The sales person said she would check with the shop and get back to me. After not hearing from her, I called back two days later. Another person in the sales department told me the order had not been put into production on account of the beveled edge detail not having been approved. I told her I had made all necessary approvals at which time she decided to track down the original sales person. After a 15 minute hold, I spoke with original sales person who greeted me with a “what do you want” tone of voice. I reminded her that she had never gotten back to me from my order status inquiry 2 days prior. Then she went into damage control mode and put me on another 15 minute hold. When she came back on the line, she apologized for the long hold time and not having got back to me. She indicated that the order, which was now in fabrication, had to wait until the arrival for a special bit to make the beveled edge cut. Completion of the order would now be a week (or so) out. Frankly, at this time, I didn’t know who or what to believe. She did indicate that the order would be sent with expedited shipping.

As I write this, it’s now about two weeks later and I’ve just received notice that the shipper (UPS) has received a shipping notification, but not the product yet. The shipment service listed is “UPS Ground”.

Super nice product. We ordered two butcher block tops for a built in cabinet. Fast shipping and a great price. We are very happy.

Overall I had a great experience with the HLC team. I ordered a custom walnut butcher block with edge work/stain/poly coating and it came out beautifully, and I mean beautifully. They did a great job and the couple of times I needed to talk to customer service they were very friendly and fast. Definitely would use them again.
