Ambient Weather WS-2902 Smart Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
Our first personal weather station. And we love it! We've made the info public on Weather Underground. Easy to setup. I would definitely recommend the WS-2902c.

I contemplated upgrading my W/S for a year or two. I'm glad I waited because the C model has important improvements compared to the A and C Osprey models, especially the console. HOWEVER, I use the Ambient iOS app frequently, probably more than the first-rate console. I also use the ambient.net and Wunderground to observe weekly or monthly trends.... my old W/S lacked Internet reporting and the console was just poor. I debated spending more money for the WS-2000 or WS-5000. But I am very happy with the Osprey. It covers all the bases very well. My kids may be getting one next Xmas for their homes (you might research the meaning of Xmas!). The ability to add a pool temp monitor will be helpful to one of my adult kids.

So far, so good. Have only used it in winter so far. Will need a few months to see how it does when we start getting liquid precip. Temps have correlated well with official NWS highs and lows. Anyhow, pleased so far!

It is Fantastic!
Although since I’m old and dumb I’m gonna need a kid to help me out with the crazy amount of technology involved! Highly reccomend this unit for I replaced a different product that did not last very long.
Shall not disclose the previous brand since my parents taught me “If you’ve got nothing nice to say, say nothing”.
Buy one, you’ll be extremely impressed.
Buy two, it’s a great thoughtful gift!

I purchased the WS-5000 to replace a WS-1001 that was destroyed in the Camp Fire. The WS-5000 offers several improvements over the WS-1001. The newer outdoor unit is divided into two units making it easier to install and the wind, and rain data resolution improvements are much appreciated. After 6 months of flawless operation I am ready to resume sending data to the weather sites.

So far not much to dislike with this machine. Still getting to know all its features and functions. Have not yet put up on its permanent mount so it sits on a temp post in the yard. Every time i think of an i wish it would do something i discover it already does it. Have not yet attempted to put it on line to broadcast the info it collects to others who might want to know the local stats and let me know on my phone what is happening here when I'm not. But expect that to be no huge challenge. Instruction manual requires a close read.

Easy to install, set up, and connect to Weather Underground. Weather information is easy to read and understand. One suggestion, though--although the rainfall collection funnel comes with a filter to keep leaves out, there could be an optional filter to keep out pine needles.

So far, so good: easy set up, excellent wifi connection with panel, accurate measures, pretty good app and weather station website. We haven’t seen any snow or ice storms yet, and that will be the real test of the ultrasonic sensor. Attaching bird spikes to the rain collector is fiddly but probably necessary; the collector looks pretty inviting to summer birds otherwise.
I’m upgrading from an Ambient 1401, but I’ll run both stations through the summer to see how it goes. It’s nice that I can upload both sets of data to the ambient.net site.

I like the station, but find the manual/instructions inadequate. That should be easy to solve for a company like yours.
The majority of the time the weather forecast icon has a cloud with rain whether the pressure is increasing or decreasing. That seems to be a failure of some kind. It should not be both. I don’t think I have ever remember seeing anything but the cloud/rain icon. Otherwise, i’m enjoying the station and enjoy comparing with other nearby stations.

Hardware is well-designed and easy to install and operate. The setup through the various apps is cumbersome and should be more seamless. Data is great, but doesn’t connect easily with other stations. Hardware is 5 stars; interface is 3 stars.

I love the station, easy to set-up, the app leaves a little to be desired, AcuRite has a better phone app I believe for quick viewing of data.

Ambient Weather WS-2902 Smart Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
A good weather station but......it is hard to get the unit to broadcast on line to weather underground, I was finally able to get that part running. I do not believe that the rain gauge is accurate. The unit is level and plumb, but the rain amounts seem under reported. I also have a manual rain gauge on my deck which consistently shows larger amounts of rain. The unit was easy to put together and not that difficult to install as long as you have a ladder tall enough to get the unit up to 10 feet or more. I have not tried contacting Ambient about the accuracy of the rain gauge. The on-line reviews I have read lead me to believe that Ambient does not believe in customer care. I will have to draw my own opinion. All in all, ,I am happy with the unit, but for a senior man like myself, the on-line interface with the various weather companies was difficult.

Great product and works as stated. The only issue for me is unless you look straight on at the screen you don't see the numbers ,etc. Wish i could have afforded the next model up but at 72 yrs old this works for me.
